In a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, SJM revealed that the next chapter of the ACOTAR world was simply too "big" for one book. Instead of cutting the story down, she is delivering it in a multi-part format that spans across two separate releases:
ACOTAR 6 (Part 1): Releasing October 27, 2026.
ACOTAR 7 (Parts 2 & 3): Releasing January 12, 2027.
While titles are still under wraps, SJM mentioned that this structure is unlike anything she’s written before. Rather than waiting years between installments, we are getting the "meat" of the new arc just months apart.
By the Numbers: What to Expect
Early listings from Bloomsbury have given us a glimpse at the scale of these books. While A Court of Silver Flames was a hefty 784 pages, these new installments are reaching even further:
ACOTAR 6 is currently listed at 352 pages. While shorter than a typical SJM novel, it serves as the essential foundation (Part 1) for the chaos to come.
ACOTAR 7 is a true "tome" at a staggering 928 pages. For context, that makes it longer than Kingdom of Ash and House of Flame and Shadow.
Theories and Teasers
The fandom is already buzzing about who these books will follow. While SJM remained cryptic, she did drop hints about exploring "free will" and the complexities of the mating bond. Whether we are finally diving into Elain’s gardening-filled POV or Azriel’s shadows, SJM promised a "brand new way of seeing ACOTAR."
She also touched on the TV adaptation, noting that while the project has faced hurdles, she is committed to ensuring any screen version remains faithful to the "emotional essence" and imagery of the books.
